Grades Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade

“Teacher Tam’s Math Games” is a collection of 11 math games that I use in my own classrooms. They are appropriate for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. Some games are more appropriate for one grade or the other. Most of the games can be adjusted to meet the needs of students working on various skill levels, whether they need a challenge or an additional review of certain concepts. The students not only think the games are fun and spend time playing them with parents, siblings, and grandparents, but they also learn valuable math skills at the same time!

Hop to It! Math — A subtraction board game
Mitten Match — A matching game using the “count on” strategy of addition
Name That Number — A number identification game using cards
Roll With It! — A graphing and probability game
Sharks and Minnows Math — An addition game with cards
Sort it Out! — A game which has students sort objects
Subtraction Tic-Tac-Toe - Students practice subtraction facts using numbers 0-10.
Where is that Number? — A number identification and place value game using cards
